And we don’t mean the extra pounds. Those are beautifully earned since you incubated a human, you super mom! We’re talking the baby bag that you carry your baby’s stuff in. You could try to channel your inner Eva Longoria with this Riley Versa Oh Baby bag: If you want to drop $295! Couldn’t you spend that on something better, like diapers? We’re disappointed because we expected more bag for the buck. This thing is just, plain. And boring. Sure, some may say “chic”. But we’re not. Look how adorbs this is. And, it’s seven pieces for $37.50 on Amazon. Or, if you’re a chic chick—this: A little fancier. But still saving on the bucks. $38.99 on Amazon. Chic-ching! No matter what, we believe that there's a piece of us that exists inside that speaks to us. That tells us we're a shining little star. Stars are cool, right? Apparently, though, we need the money of a real-life twinkling celebrity in order to afford these cute leggings from Ultracor. $198 is a lot to feel all star-dusty-fabulous. Considering the shape we're in, we're gonna stretch those stars into a gigantic broke-down galaxy. So... let's get starry and save some cash with these. These are similar. And cheaper. $22.99 for the most expensive. Maybe with all the money we save we could buy an actual star... Maybe you got proposed to for Valentine’s Day. Congrats! Now it’s time to get into planning mode. So, how ‘bout that dress? Designer Madeline Gardner has the inside scoop on what’s trending for the bride in 2020. Seriously. She’s been crafting the most beautiful bridal gowns, prom, and Quinceanera dresses for more than 25 years. Oh—and she sketched Meghan Markle’s wedding gowns from the TV coverage, and had them produced and available within 10 days of the royal wedding. Gardner says to watch for: 1. Plunging Backs and Plunging v-necklines. 2. Whimsical Skirts. Fairytale weddings are very popular. 3. Ball Gowns! Think "Tara" large, whooshing and whirling or layers of soft tulle with flowing, layered skirts. 4. Super Wow, dramatic trains that tell a story. Remember Meghan Markle's veil featuring gorgeous, intricate embroidery specifically with the signature flowers from all of the countries in the British Commonwealth. Well, since then, brides have been eyeing sweep and fishtail to statement-making trains. Personalization and customization is happening where brides are adding touching details to the fabric of their wedding dress. 5. Beyond the Veil. Sophisticated, classic silhouettes are trending. Paired with lace-edged, long dramatic statement veils. Nostalgic or embellished, veils are available in different lengths, shapes and color. 6. Voluminous Puff sleeves. Dreamy. Romantic. Detachable. 7. Sexy, lingerie bodices. See-through ideal for beach and beachy weddings. Find these gorgeous gowns on Morilee’s website. Go get ‘em, girls. Enjoy your picture-perfect day—because it’s going to be no matter what! Oh, to be a little girl again. To wear something this stinkin' cute: JOYFOLIE's Layla Dress in Silver will only set you back $39.99! We wonder... if we order the largest size (14), could we somehow squeeze into it, even with two layers of Spanx on.... Oh, forget it. Go with this "big girl" option instead... That's more our size. And the price: $38.95. Twinkle, twinkle! (With flowy room to eat Twinkies, Twinkies. That's how we roll.) If you only give half a damn about Valentine’s Day, make that “damn” count with these affordable, adorbs socks from MeMoi! Novelty socks are the only cool thing about winter, seriously. At only $6 a pair, you can V gift yourself multiple sampler boxes of chocolates when they go on clearance on the 15th. P.S. The tights cost a little more. Guess it depends on how true your love really is... We've wondered many times what we'd do with a lot of cash. Would we become bougie? Would we humble brag while wearing some overpriced designer creation? No. So when we see celebs throwing their money away on designer-doesn't-equate-quality items, we cringe. Meghan Markle is only living the royal life on the PT, but she's still rockin' the I'm-casual-but-paid-a-lot-for-this-whatever-outfit look. She was photographed wearing some cool shades and a cashmere beanie from Hat Attack. While we will remain fans of the designer name, we don't need to part with $87. If you need the cashmere in your life, at least this one is more wallet-friendly: Girl, if you don't want to get caught at Old Navy just order online. Then you can buy another tiara or something... High heels are great. For about five minutes. And then you’re longing for something a bit more comfy. Or maybe you need to jazz up your look from casual to yeah!-usal. Get the best of both worlds with Pashion Footwear—the high heel that converts to a flat. Choose from three different styles, and a couple of different heel heights. The cost: $165 for the Pashionista style. But you are getting two pair… We love a good play on words. Or irony. Or weird stuff. So, when we came across a company named Snag, and they’re a tights company, and tights usually snag, well… Snag is our tights savior! Its unique sizing system takes body shape, size, and height into account to offer tights that truly vary in width and length—because we are not all shaped alike. Those other company’s tights give zero effs about that. Snag tights come in a variety of cool colors and are priced at $12-$15 per pair. We’re snagged. Don’t slap us for that… Damn the Swiss! They sure have the hygge thing perfected. If you need a quick, easy holiday gift idea—try this on for size (see what we did there?) A pair of cozy slippers from Baabuk. Why drop $65-$80 on slippers you might wear the Walmart? Because they’re awesome! Made from responsibly sourced wool, they’re natural wicking and breathable that keep your feet comfy all year round. Grip-and-glide soles are just as durable as they are great for sliding across wood floors (Risky Business style?) And they’re crafted in Nepal. So… And here’s another cool slipper action shot: Uhmmm, dad is actually crying out in pain here. Notice that his daughter is totally squashing his “fruit bowl”. At least she’s doing it with a “responsibly-sourced” foot… Thank goodness, a gaping hole in the fashion world has been filled: authentic, dance-inspired lifestyle athleisure clothing. Whew! Zise was born from one of the world’s leading ballet brand, BLOCH, and “reimagines the traditional dance aesthetic with a premium, ultra-feminine activewear range that’s as stylish as it is functional.” But there’s more: “The ZISE woman arrives at her exercise class in the same outfit she intends to leave in. As her day unfolds, her look needs to adapt accordingly, so the pieces are based on layers that she can effortlessly peel off or pile on.” Who knew pro dancers had it so rough? Let’s tell the story through pictures: Zise Woman: “I’m a badass Prima.” Crack Wise Woman: “I’m only doing this once, because I’m going to fart and be kicked out of this class.” Zise Woman: “On to that cute little café to get my favorite greens smoothie.” Crack Wise Woman: “Today’s National Doughnut Day, so…” Zise Woman: “Great day of being fit and fab. One more workout to stay under 105.” Crack Wise Woman: “Too many doughnuts. If I lean back like this my food baby looks smaller... Ugh! Foot cramp!” We want dancewear for when we’re dancing in the aisle of the grocery store. That’s a niche that needs addressed. |
