It can leave us empty—even if we reach whatever goal. Tauren Wells brings us a simple, beautiful concept in his song “Known.” That concept—you’re loved for who you are in this moment. Not what you did, or what you might accomplish. You are truly known by a pure being who just wants to have a relationship with you as you are. Wells is a five-time Grammy Award Nominee, a Dove Award winner for New Artist of the Year 2018, and is well on his way to superstardom. Ever had a song just slap you in the face, and you absolutely dig it? That’s how we feel about Emily Brimlow’s tune “Hope”. She has such a unique voice and tone. It’s addicting. And there is nothing wrong with this type of addiction. Emily’s love for average folk inspired this song. “I wanted to write a tribute to the everyday person.” Emily says, “A song to the ones who find a reason to smile even when they’re down.” We can easily see ourselves putting this one on repeat, happily. If we’re completely honest, we can admit that life sometimes is just… hard. Not that we’ve expected puppy kisses and rainbows to cover all our days. But... We all could use a little inspiration. If you strip the labels off of Christian Contemporary music, you might find you like it. Planetshakers has a fun, vibrant, praise-filled song, “Heaven on Earth”. Is there talk of God, the Kingdom and Jesus? Yup. What we enjoy about CCM is that it’s good music with a message that doesn’t feel like an uncomfortable wooden church pew with no cushion. “When Jesus taught us to pray, He encouraged us to ask for God’s Kingdom to come on earth as it is in Heaven. This is the heart and desire of this song. That we would experience the Kingdom of God. This Kingdom of joy, freedom, peace and healing as we worship together. And as the presence of God is manifest. This Our prayer is that listeners will listen to this song and experience a piece of Heaven on earth.” - Joshua Brown, Planetshakers Whether you believe or not, this song is uplifting.
