Full disclosure: We were so curious about this song because the artist’s name is Jackson Wang. And because we sometimes (all the time) have the maturity of a 12-year-old boy, we had to check it out. Then we realized that Jackson Wang is from the KPop group Got7. And it all made sense that this song would be worth the listen. And the video? So much drams. Check out “100 Ways”… Catchy song. Fierce and fab feel. Wangtastic! And so are your hands. Because you’re washing them, right? If there is one message we’ve heard a million times since childhood and now through the COVID, its: WASH. YOUR. DAMN. HANDS. KT Tunstall wants to ensure we never forget this with her new tune “Wash Ya Hands”, featuring four-time UK Beatbox Champ Grace Savage, and The Freelance Hellraiser. Follow the instructions in the lyric video, and you could be a star in the “real” video. Fun song. Fun lyric video. We like anything where we can re-live childhood with a sing-along carefree nature, while being old enough to drink wine while singing—which makes this even better. We need a vacation from this strange way of living. Since that can’t happen quite yet, this song will have to do. Conkarah’s “Banana” featuring Shaggy transcends us to the islands where everything is just warm, delightful, and mask-free… And we do like bananas, especially that delicious Dirty Banana beverage. Good times… Never has a love triangle been a good thing. It’s always messy and everybody loses. But in this case—we’re down with a little messy because it’s fabulous! Kelsea Ballerini teams with Halsey on “The Other Girl”— a tale about two women wondering who the other girl is in their man’s life: me or you? Their voices are perfectly matched in this pop/country story. And really, these two represent a man having his cake and eating it two—one’s a petite brunette; the other’s a tall blonde. Score! We say they dump him and become besties. For us, the best country songs are about drinking and celebrating the simple life (aren’t most country songs like this?) And in the face mask of a pandemic, we could use some eff-it, let’s live it up. We have Lady Antebellum to thank for “Champagne Nights”—a fun tune with a chill vibe about not needing fancy stuff to have a good time. Just give us a plastic cup filled with beer from a can and a bonfire, and we’re livin’ like we won the lottery. A life of luxury is spending time with your people doing your thing your way. Cheers! It seems most of the world has jumped on the Tiger King bandwagon. From memes, to spoofs, to the music—it’s all been bizarrely entertaining. Indie pop artist Alex Winston has painted on her tiger stripes, and released Tiger Queen: Joe Exotic Covers. Yup. We’ve gone there. And we can’t go back. Here’s her cover of "Here Kitty, Kitty." Only Alex can turn the Tiger King drama into a dreamy tale of a Lifetime Movie-meets-Investigation Discovery. We’re smitten. Or is that… bitten. As Joe Exotic would say: “F&ck you, Carole Baskin!” In these unprecedented times, we’re all facing the same things: anxiety, uncertainty, finding normalcy, searching for answers. Music has the power to unite us; to soothe us; to make us stronger. “We’re All in This Together” is an anthem for the times from the band Ravenwood. A band known for its message of triumph over adversity, this is a much needed message of hope. Don’t give up. Let's rock this COVID outta here... Country artist Karen Waldrup is looking to lift our spirits as we shelter at home. Starting today, she’s launching Waldrup Worldwide digital spirit week. It’s just like spirit week in high school or college, but digital. She asking people to dress up as a certain theme each day. The digital spirit week will wrap with a digital pep rally featuring music, inspirational stories, a major announcement, and more. Up to 100 of Karen’s fans will be featured on the pep rally that will be broadcast live on her Facebook page. Sounds like a blast! Who’s got spirit? Crack Wise-rs do! Her voice is truly like an angel. And couldn’t we all use an angel right now? Brennley Brown’s “One More Hallelujah” is the sweetness we need in sour times. With a voice that reminds us of a young Dolly Parton, Brennley shares what’s on her heart. “The message of this song is one of inspiration and healing in the midst of life’s most challenging hardships. My prayer for this song, is that it resonates with each and every person that hears it and affords them hope, inspiration, and encouragement. We are not isolated in our brokenness and pain.” #Together n light of everything that is going on today, worldwide, you might be feeling… alone. Let GAWVI’s “Not So Far” comfort you. Here are the lyrics: I had to cover up my eyes Saw what the bottom lookin like Still got a little bit of light It’s like you gave me new sight More and more a little over time It don’t matter how far I get Cause when a heathen come running home I know you gonna Love me You wake me up from my sleep Gonna Love me More than enough Cause I know you gonna Tell me That I’m close to you heart Gonna Tell me That I’m not too far Gonna Love me You wake me up from my sleep Gonna Love me More than enough Cause I know you gonna Tell me That I’m close to you heart Gonna Tell me I ran a million miles away You catch me testing out my faith The only thing that never changed was you I know that every single step that I'm taking Yeah, it's covered in your love no hesitation I can’t Shake my faith I know you say Even when you see me run Hand that I’m holding a ton Feel like the prodigal son You wait on |
