For us, the best country songs are about drinking and celebrating the simple life (aren’t most country songs like this?) And in the face mask of a pandemic, we could use some eff-it, let’s live it up. We have Lady Antebellum to thank for “Champagne Nights”—a fun tune with a chill vibe about not needing fancy stuff to have a good time. Just give us a plastic cup filled with beer from a can and a bonfire, and we’re livin’ like we won the lottery. A life of luxury is spending time with your people doing your thing your way. Cheers! Country artist Karen Waldrup is looking to lift our spirits as we shelter at home. Starting today, she’s launching Waldrup Worldwide digital spirit week. It’s just like spirit week in high school or college, but digital. She asking people to dress up as a certain theme each day. The digital spirit week will wrap with a digital pep rally featuring music, inspirational stories, a major announcement, and more. Up to 100 of Karen’s fans will be featured on the pep rally that will be broadcast live on her Facebook page. Sounds like a blast! Who’s got spirit? Crack Wise-rs do! n light of everything that is going on today, worldwide, you might be feeling… alone. Let GAWVI’s “Not So Far” comfort you. Here are the lyrics: I had to cover up my eyes Saw what the bottom lookin like Still got a little bit of light It’s like you gave me new sight More and more a little over time It don’t matter how far I get Cause when a heathen come running home I know you gonna Love me You wake me up from my sleep Gonna Love me More than enough Cause I know you gonna Tell me That I’m close to you heart Gonna Tell me That I’m not too far Gonna Love me You wake me up from my sleep Gonna Love me More than enough Cause I know you gonna Tell me That I’m close to you heart Gonna Tell me I ran a million miles away You catch me testing out my faith The only thing that never changed was you I know that every single step that I'm taking Yeah, it's covered in your love no hesitation I can’t Shake my faith I know you say Even when you see me run Hand that I’m holding a ton Feel like the prodigal son You wait on If this is a monster, we want to be scared. Really. Monsta X is one of the K Pop machine’s finest creations. The frightening thing here is how scary-good the music is. Pop perfection. The perfect image The perfect look. “You Can’t Hold My Heart” is another single that has Monbebes (the nickname for fans of the band) all quivering with love… We just want to sit around with these boys and give each facial masks, and manis and watch Netflix. They’re supposed to do a string of North American dates in June. That damned Coronavirus better be sent packin’ by then. But we have a feeling nothing can come between Monbebes and their bae. AJ Mitchell strikes us a a Bieber Wannabe. He's surely heard this before, and surely is not pleased about it. Too bad. Take the money and fame while you can. AJ's tune "Spring Break" has a nice vibe to it. After multiple shots and bottles of Boone's, many a young body will be grinding to this one. Why the sweater (in this video) on Spring Break? The bodies are hot in Daytona (or wherever). Plus, you're probs gonna get Coronavirus so you're gonna be hot from that fever. Like socks and sandals, the Mr. Rogers Sweater doesn't look good. The squeaky-dolphin-bare-chest... Just, no. Also, borderline douche-y. And what's the deal with the promo pic for this song? Yeah. We know what's gonna be "poppin'" this Spring Break... Kinda seriously, though. This song does feel like spring break, which means you can feel the feels any time then... P.S. We like how Rich The Kid (featured on this tune) is ready with his Coronavirus mask. Meghan Trainor was all about the bass and the no-no-nos in the beginning. There is no doubt she can write a hit song. There is no doubt she can sing. But after gettin' all pumped for her new music, we feel like... blah, blah, blah. "Nice to Meet Ya" is a nice dance track featuring Nicki Minaj. Nothing over the top. Everything as expected. And perhaps that's the issue. We will always appreciate the she-girl-empowerment message. We'll still shake our fine bootays to your tunes, but some of the magic is gone. We're on to your lyrical tricks and callbacks. And this makes us a little… sad… Warning: Please stop before you become the next Nickelback. We. Can’t. Even. Jhene Aiko’s “P*$$y Fairy” is… magical? We’re not giving this tune two b&lls up. We were simply intrigued when this came across our desk. A song. Named P*$$y Fairy. So we listened. The premise revolves around a large ween that’s magnetically drawn, basically, to this magical female hot spot. Listen with earbuds on. This ain’t SFW. Uh... okay. They don’t write lyrics as poetic as this anymore. And what's intriguing are the sweet vocals, about something so tawdry. Perhaps you dream of this magical after-hours creature visiting you, sprinkling who knows what... on you... We complicate things. We get in our own way. If we had a more simplistic approach to life and loving ourselves, we’d be happier. That’s the gist of The Head and The Heart’s “See You Through My Eyes”. How many times have we muffed something from overthinking? Or thinking our baggage will ruin everything? We all have baggage. So, let’s move on.. This all could be so easy… Like what you read here? It’s not the Jackson 5 version, but Walk Off the Earth’s “I’ll Be There” carries a loving sentiment. It’s not the romantical kind, but it is a song all about love done up in a pop-reggae vibe... I’ll be there for the highs and lows Give you mine if your heart gets broke By your side when you’re all alone I will be there When you’re down on your luck No ride home and you got too drunk 2am I will pick you up I will be there The band has been through its share of heartache. Last December Mike “Beard Guy” Taylor died from natural causes in his sleep, just as the band was ready to embark on a world tour. They’re on the road now, on the road to healing. And with this tune, we know that someone will always have our back. Like what you read here? There was a time when Scott Stapp was on top of the world. His band, Creed, had jet-rocketed into outer space after gaining airplay on a hometown radio station. There wasn’t a song that wasn’t a hit. And then the bottom fell out. Substance abuse. Egos. Too much fame and fortune. Most recently, Scott had hit rock bottom—again. But now, he’s back. And dare we say—rockin’ fabulous. His latest track, “Purpose For Pain” is delicious rock as it should be—heavy guitars, tight harmonies, and Scott’s unmistakable vocal stylizing. The song is about "…Seeking a higher meaning, a spiritual mentality when dealing with our struggles and life’s painful moments. There are unexplainable, dark times that everyone goes through, and that pain is real. If we can dig deep and hold on to hope during the most difficult situations, believing there is a purpose waiting for us on the others side, we can find meaning and clarity that gives us the strength to keep fighting.” Fight on… Like what you read here?
