In these unprecedented times, we’re all facing the same things: anxiety, uncertainty, finding normalcy, searching for answers. Music has the power to unite us; to soothe us; to make us stronger. “We’re All in This Together” is an anthem for the times from the band Ravenwood. A band known for its message of triumph over adversity, this is a much needed message of hope. Don’t give up. Let's rock this COVID outta here... Wanna feel old? Seriously, we know you don't want to but... Incubus has been around for 20 years. Two decades. Gulp. But they're still rockin' it out! And honestly, Incubus has been making real rock music the entire time. Check out their latest, "Our Love". Make this your love anthem. Or any anthem for anything. Because it's awesome. We complicate things. We get in our own way. If we had a more simplistic approach to life and loving ourselves, we’d be happier. That’s the gist of The Head and The Heart’s “See You Through My Eyes”. How many times have we muffed something from overthinking? Or thinking our baggage will ruin everything? We all have baggage. So, let’s move on.. This all could be so easy… Like what you read here? There was a time when Scott Stapp was on top of the world. His band, Creed, had jet-rocketed into outer space after gaining airplay on a hometown radio station. There wasn’t a song that wasn’t a hit. And then the bottom fell out. Substance abuse. Egos. Too much fame and fortune. Most recently, Scott had hit rock bottom—again. But now, he’s back. And dare we say—rockin’ fabulous. His latest track, “Purpose For Pain” is delicious rock as it should be—heavy guitars, tight harmonies, and Scott’s unmistakable vocal stylizing. The song is about "…Seeking a higher meaning, a spiritual mentality when dealing with our struggles and life’s painful moments. There are unexplainable, dark times that everyone goes through, and that pain is real. If we can dig deep and hold on to hope during the most difficult situations, believing there is a purpose waiting for us on the others side, we can find meaning and clarity that gives us the strength to keep fighting.” Fight on… Like what you read here? Twenty One Pilots is a pretty friggin’ cool band. The music rocks. And, they know it’s all about their fans—which have been deemed the “Skeleton Clique”. The Clique was front and center with a contest in partnership with Creative Allies to design tour posters. Nearly 30,000 fans participated. Winning artists scored $250, two tickets to the Bandito Tour, an autographed merchandise pack, and recognition on social media. One grand prize winner scored an all-expenses-paid trip to the band’s hometown Columbus, Ohio, show and a meet-and-greet. Sebastian Kowoll was the big winner. “I'm at a point in life where I have gained some confidence with my art, but there were a LOT of submissions and many amazing ones. So being chosen as the winner is a super humbling, validating and truly rewarding experience.” Well said. We would’ve said: “Suck my paint brush, bitches.” Like what you read here? We’re hoping we are trending away from music without guitars and solos. BRKN LOVE brings us all the guitars, and some damn fine vocals with “Shot Down”. This tune is heavy, but not noisy—as if these fellas know how to play music. That’s refreshing. Plus, it’s a much needed testosterone blast in this man-bun wearing world. Let’s have a little fun with their band photo. A “What Am I Thinking”? caption contest: Dude #1: “Did I leave the neck massager plugged in?” Dude #2: “HA HA HA HA… What?” Dude #3: “I can’t believe I’m in a band with these turds.” Dude #4: “I shouldn’t have had jalapenos on those tacos.” Add your captions below... Though, we must admit, we are fans of frontman Johnny Rzeznik. Fun dude. Stories of said dude. Maybe when we get to writing that memoir… but we digress. But their latest effort “Miracle Pill” is stuck-in-your-head-delightful. Yes, delightful. For a band that’s been around since the late 80s, they’ve done a good job of evolving their sound. While some are bitchin’ and moanin’ that there isn’t enough guitar in this track, we say—it’s okay. While we’re fans of guitars, it’s a nice change of pace to hear different sounds in a song. We feel ya, Johnny. We all want to snuggle up with our own miracle pill... Like what you read here? Stone Temple Pilots came into our consciousness in 1992 with their debut album, Core. It sold more than eight million copies and earned a Grammy Award. Their sophomore album, Purple cemented their place in rock history. Hard to believe it’s been 25 years since the release of Purple (June 7, 1994). Yikes! But we still act like we’re 25! Regardless, a newly remastered version of the original studio album will be available on September 13th for $64.98. PURPLE: SUPER DELUXE EDITION is a 3-CD/one LP set includes the original track listing, plus unreleased versions of album tracks and rarities, along with an unreleased full concert recording from 1994. A limited edition bundle (only 1,000 copies) is now available for pre-order. It includes a bonus replica 7-inch vinyl single of “Interstate Love Song” that was originally released in the UK in 1994. Twenty-five years… wow. Things that have happened in the past 25 years… a lot… we got a respectable job and change our underwear daily. Yeah. That’s about it. Like what you read here? Musial magic happens when all the pieces-parts are well-done and come together to make a kick-ass punch to the gut. Such is the case with Asking Alexandria's "Vultures." You can feel the pain in lead singer Danny Worsnop’s vocal. Dude has lived what he’s singing. People wanting to take it all, and then take even more. Guess we’ve all been there. Crank this one when you need to release some angst. Because straight-up slapping someone could get you in trouble with the law… Like what you read here?
