For some, the demise of Necco candies was a death blow to the soul. For others (like us), it was no biggie.
For those Necco lovers, you’ll be happy to know that some candies are coming back, but... some are in limbo. Better start praying.

Our friends at CandyStore.com say Candy Buttons are back, but Mary Janes and Squirrel Nut Zippers are in limbo. Clark Bars and Sky Bars? There’s a good chance they’ll return. Click here to get a rundown of what’s coming back, and what may R.I.P. in candy heaven forever. We’re shaken to the core. The two things we dig a lot-- Easter eggs and cheese—come together to make us weep tears of joy. Big, blueberry cheddar tears of joy. Let us introduce you to the Cheester egg—a creation of Butlers’ Farmhouse Cheeses. This egg is solid, yet spreadable cheese. The Easter Bunny brings you this divine dairy creation along with oatcakes and chutney to make you feel all British-y. Sadly, we’re crying real tears. Even though you can buy these eggs online, Butlers doesn’t deliver internationally. We see where this is going. Their wigs and bloomers are all bunched up, still angry that we seceded. Snacking just became a multi-faceted activity thanks to Frito-Lay. Three new flavors are ready for you to eat, judge, and hopefully eat again. Thanks to the “Turn Up the Flavor” campaign, we can enjoy Kettle Cooked Classic Beer Cheese, Wavy Electric Lime and Sea Salt, and Flamin’ Hot Dill Pickle Remix chips. Each flavor is paired with a music genre, and each package comes with a code that unlocks a custom song from artist Bebe Rexha. Cool. Thanks for wanting to give us a “flavor experience” or whatever you hope to accomplish. Our goal is to eat these chips and hope y’all got it right. Sometimes these flavors fall short, making us long for simpler days of limited choice: regular, barbecue, sour cream and onion. Condiments are life. No human doesn’t like something to dip in, something to slather on that sammie, something to sauce-up. Only lizard people loathe condiments. Since we’re never giving up foods we love, we need to food smarter. Kumana Avocado Sauces can make that a reality. Kumana is like a South American Sriracha—without the extra calories and added sugars. These sauces are Keto approved, Paleo friendly, low in calories, and carb free. Can we get an Amen? How to Kumana: add flavor to meat, egg and vegetable dishes; Drizzle over eggs, top tacos, jazz-up veggies. From mild, to hot, to sweet, there’s a Kumana sauce calling your name. Portion control. It’s a bitch. Seriously. You can’t just stop at a quarter cup of mac-n-cheese. It turns in to a half plate. If you’re struggling to keep it real and you can’t stand your food touching, then Food Cubby is your new bestie. It’s a semi-circle of BPA-free, food grade silicone that suctions to a flat dinner plate creating a “wall” that helps divide out the food on the plate. Say “see ya” to measuring cups or scales. The Food Cubby measures out a cup or half a cup. It’s dishwasher safe and easily transportable. Since no one makes the adult version of the kiddie divider/TV dinner/Chinet barbecue/ divider plate—this rocks. But, we wouldn’t take these out into public. Unless we have a kid that can’t have their food touching or else World War III will start. Plus, when we go out to eat, it’s a treat. Bring on all the fries with mayo. And a half-pound cheeseburger that really is way too much food. If you want to up your cheese game, and we don’t mean those lame pickup lines you’re droppin’ at the local hoochie corral, then turn to these winners when making your next sammie. March 7th marks National Cereal Day, so grab a bowl and spoon and give these babies a try:
Honey Bunches of Oats morphs into Honey Brunches of Oats to celebrate its two new, limited edition tastes: Chicken & Waffles and Maple Bacon Donuts. Neither contains meat, but they do deliver (according to Post) the expected taste. Really? Get your honey buns (see what we did there?) over to Walmart, Giant Eagle, Woodman’s and Riesbeck’s before they’re gone. |
