You’ve probably heard people say before that what you speak becomes reality. So why do you continue to speak negativity, whether consciously or unconsciously?
Sam Beasley and BJ Gallagher have collaborated on Your Life Is Your Prayer. If you’re wondering why things are the way they are, perhaps you need to look in the mirror. From the book: Prayer can point your life in the right direction—or the wrong one: Whatever you’ve got going on in your life is what you’ve been praying for—sometimes consciously, but often unconsciously. If you want something different in your life, you must pray a different prayer. Everything you do is prayer: You may not realize it—many people don’t—but the decisions you make throughout the day, the attitudes you adopt, the conversations you have, the way you respond to other people, and the thoughts you think are all prayers. The food you choose to eat is a prayer, the way you spend your money is a prayer—even the way you drive is a prayer! We are constantly communing with the Divine, even in our most mundane activities. And our prayers are always answered in the affirmative: “Yes.” The Universe will give you what you're praying for: Whatever you’re thinking about (and therefore praying about) will manifest in your life. If you are worrying, "I don’t have enough money," the Universe will say ‘Yes, you don’t have enough money.’ If you’re constantly lamenting, "I don’t have a man in my life," the Universe will respond, ‘Yes, you don’t have a man.’ If you frequently complain, "I’m fat," the Universe will answer, ‘Yes, you’re fat.’ Your thoughts and words are prayers, and the Universe always gives you what you’re praying for. Gulp. We feel so powerful, yet so effed up at the same time! Guess we need to grab this book so we can: Learn how to stop complaining Discover how to focus on what you do want, not what you don’t want Learn how to make your prayers positive and affirming to get more of what you want in life Discover how, by consistently choosing new thoughts and new conversations, you will literally create a new life for yourself We can do this! Let’s say it together: we are beautiful, worthy, powerful. And we can eat all the tacos and not gain an ounce. Boom! Doctors are lukewarm to cold when it comes to our use of supplements. We are proponents of them because we’ve actually felt the positive effects of them. But we’re not brainy with an important job. So…. But if you’re interested in the supplement game, you may want to check these out from Rainbow Light. FYI: our vitamin needs change throughout the years. Who knew? Rainbow Light’s Active Health Teen Multivitamin is specifically formulated to support the unique nutritional needs of teenagers. This formula gives teens nutrients they need for steady energy, strong immune system, sharp mind and relaxed mind. Rainbow Light’s Berry D-Licious Vitamin D3 2,500 IU is a bottle of raspberry gummies that support bone and muscle strength, immune function, along with circulatory and cellular health, and promotes calcium absorption for peeps in their biological middle age (we feel age is just a number, but again, we’re not brainy with an important job.) Rainbow Light’s Active Adult 50+ Multivitamin provides vitamin D, a potent B-complex, Co Q-10, extra antioxidant protection, probiotics and enzymes to support immunity, eye, skin and prostate health. Sounds good. Grab a pill, swallow it down, and live strong. Crack Wise recommends its favorite vitamin. Vitamin W. As in wine. A glass a day keeps the fools away. Warmer days and sunnier weather are just ahead. The desire to get all that natural Vitamin D is strong. But don’t be foolish. Even good things can be bad for you. With Skin Cancer Awareness Month closing in on us (May), best be mindful of that bright, powerful orb in the sky. Wallaroo Hat Company is all-in on the protection game. Every year, they donate a portion of their profits to the Skin Cancer Foundation. Because you don’t want to sacrifice looking cool for the sake of safety, their fashionable hats come in a variety of styles for women, men, and kids. And the best part—these hats are made to block 97% of UV rays, and they’re UPF 50. Bounce, nasty solar rays! If the thought of needles full of toxins injected into your face to make you look younger is unappealing, perhaps you need to do with Kim Kardashian does: (we can't believe we're suggesting doing anything she does) “organic Botox powder”. Biotulin’s Hydrolon Loose Powder supposedly gives you all the benefits of Botox—without the pain, needles, and frozen face. The powder contains closed, micro-sized liquid pearls that open when applied to your face. Active ingredient Biotulin enters the skin and reduces muscle contractions and facial features. Supposedly, wrinkles are reduced, especially crow’s feet and that spot between the eyebrows. Kimmie K has been using the stuff for two months. But she’s not wrinkly and old to begin with, so let’s see what it does to a way older person...
We just want to stand up and applaud Koorosh Rassekh!
Who? He’s an addiction treatment specialist and founder of Evo Health and Wellness in Venice, California. And he’s defending wine… kind of. A recent study out of the U.K. found that when it comes to cancer risk, drinking one bottle of wine a week is the equivalent of smoking five-to-ten cigarettes per week. NOOOOOOOOOOO! “There is no doubt about it, this study is very frightening,” said Rassekh. “However, it’s important to look closer whenever we see studies that use provocative or shocking wording such as this one does. Should a person who enjoys a glass of wine a few nights a week suddenly become worried about developing cancer? And, if they become fearful of this, will this be a useful emotion in helping to change their behavior?” Take that, stupid pot-stirring dukie heads! “Fear tactics never work to change behavior long-term, and on the rare occasion that they do, it doesn’t cure the condition, just the symptom. Is a person who stops drinking a glass of wine with dinner going to be healthier and live longer as a result of this study?” said Rassekh. “Maybe, or maybe they will have an extra dessert, or maybe they will be resentful or stressed about this new choice they have been scared into. Studies like these don’t spark healthy choices, they simply scare people into dropping a ‘bad’ behavior without showing them how to develop coping skills or new healthier practices.” Give this man a prize! Rassekh says we should focus on what we should be doing and not the list of don’ts. So… wine on. Responsibly. Sleep. We don’t get enough. Not most of us. Sleep really is a precious commodity because it’s so integral to our functioning. The Calm sleep app has helped so many people drift off into la la land with a variety of techniques. “Insomnia is a modern epidemic. To prepare for sleep we need to transition from the bustle and stress of the day to the calm of the night. We need to slow our racing minds and ease ourselves naturally to sleep,” said Michael Acton Smith, co-founder of Calm. Musical artist Moby suffers from chronic sleep problems, so he decided to help others by writing songs for the Calm app, entitled Long Ambients 2. “Go to sleep little Crack Wiser. La La la la la la la la…..” The flowers are blooming. The grass is growing. The leaves are coming in. And your new bestie is a box of tissues and some eye drops. Hey, allergies—eat a bag! What to do? Besides the usual treatments, why not enlist the help of an air purifier? Airfree is a revolutionary air purifier that dramatically reduces indoor air pollution and germs in your environment that safely and effectively destroys microorganisms. This is how it works: Contaminated air is drawn into the Airfree ceramic core and is destroyed at high temperatures and returns clean, sterile air to your environment. The air purification cycle is silent, requires no maintenance, and is guaranteed to work based on numerous test. Turn it on, and let it do its thang. Airfree is a natural process that does not use chemicals, radiation or toxic products, and it does not interfere with temperature or humidity in your home. Give it a shot, instead of getting an allergy shot. P.S. Is it just us, or does this purifier look like butt cheeks wearing a thong?
Usually, being labeled an “outsider” isn’t a good thing. It can be motivating, yes. But most would not want to be saddled with such exclusion.
In this case, being an outsider is good for your health. More and more scientific evidence is showing that enjoying the outdoors—exploring nature in your own backyard, in a park setting, or school yard—reduces stress, improves memory, boosts heart health, and offers a whole host of other benefits for our minds and bodies. “Having a living landscape of grass, trees, shrubs and flowering plants is good. Using this outdoor space to reap the health benefits it offers is even better,” said Kris Kiser, president and CEO of the Outdoor Power Equipment Institute, whose foundation created TurfMutt—an environmental education and stewardship program that teaches the value and benefits of the outdoors. Getting outside for just 10 minutes can have a positive effect. TurfMutt shares 10 ways to enjoy nature in 10 minutes. Take a walk. Lace up your athletic shoes and head out for a walk around the block or to your neighborhood park. While you’re out, commit to turning off your cell phone and enjoying the natural setting around you (it’s just 10 minutes, after all!). Get your kids moving. A rousing game of tag or hide and seek in the family yard is a great way to counter computer and screen time. Play with your dog. A dog’s favorite “room” of the house is your family yard. Take inspiration from your pooch and spend a few minutes outside playing Frisbee or fetch. Clean up your outdoor living room. Make simple work of yard chores by breaking them up into smaller chunks. Ten minutes is enough time to put a serious dent in weeding a flower bed, sweeping off the back patio, or picking up debris from your lawn. Plant something. It is spring planting season, so take 10 minutes to dig a hole and introduce a new plant or get started on your vegetable garden or flower beds. Dine al fresco. Taking a meal outside is one of the easiest – and most nourishing – ways to enjoy the outdoor space around you. Have breakfast with the backyard birds. Lunch at a park near your office. Enjoy your coffee break under a shade tree. Study or read a book. Take the “work” out of homework by moving study or reading sessions to your backyard or community green space. Swap a (short) commute for walking or biking. Do you typically use your car to run down to the mailbox, to a nearby convenience store, or to run other nearby daily errands? If it’s not too far, take a short walk or ride your bike instead. Meet outside. Fresh air can be a catalyst for fresh ideas, so take your next brainstorming session for work outdoors. Need to have a heart-to-heart with your child? Scientists have discovered that communication between parents and children is more connected when conducted outside. Sit back and relax. Sometimes the best thing to do is absolutely nothing at all. Spend some time in a hammock, spread a blanket out on the grass, or take a meditation break outside to soak up the nature around you. That’s one smart mutt! Dogs really are better than humans! We know, we know. Getting enough sleep is crucial. But for some of us, falling asleep isn’t as simple as one sheep, two, sheep, zzzzzzz. EMF-protection company energydots has just launched sleepDOT. It has a magnetic structure the uses Passive Micro Vibrational Technology to aid sleep. That sounds technical... It’s programmed with a specific mix of soothing vibrations, which encourage natural sleep by slowing our brain waves from the daytime beta frequencies to the much-needed sleep frequencies of theta and delta. The sleepDOT needs to be as close as possible to your head while you’re sleeping. Stick it to a clean, dry surface like a headboard, wooden slat on your bedframe, or bedside table. We might affix these to our body as art. A dot here, a dot there; maybe our own Mike Conley can use one as a codpiece. Hey, it’s all in the name of sleep. Or creep… |
