Ed Sheeran. This dude is just prolific. We can’t even keep track of all the hits he’s had. And it sounds like he’s not stopping anytime soon. He’s back after a year off to enjoy life as a newlywed, to travel and just decompress from his super stardom. He hasn’t missed a beat. We’re partial to Ed’s uptempo tunes. He can flow just as well as he can croon. His latest is “Cross Me” featuring Chance The Rapper & PnB Rock. The musical mashup about staying away from a lady who’s spoken for works. A lot. “Gotta respect the HBIC” Yassssss! Like what you read here? If you’re a nostalgic fool (and we mean that in the best way), then you’ll love Maggie Lindemann’s newest tune “Friends Go”. It’s a complete nod to No Doubt. Its upbeat, ska feel is paired with lyrics that tell a story of nostalgia and longing for a relationship gone too soon. Perfect for a social media generation that can leave you feeling friendless even though you have 5,000 “friends”. Well, hopefully Maggie will find real friends to get her through the tough times. She can call us up. Like what you read here? Click on the HOME page and subscribe today to unlock premium, members-only content—some of which you won’t find any place else on the internet! After wowing us with his mellow-vibed “Lights Down Low,” MAX is back with “Love Me Less” featuring Quinn XCII. Nice vocals, nice staccato rhythm, and craftily crafted mashup-ery with that Quinn dude—all while soul-bearing about ones active love life past. And we love the video because of the use of a giant stuffed monkey, which reminds of us of our Funbassador Ollie, which is sweetness. P.S. Ever had a song just slap you in the face, and you absolutely dig it? That’s how we feel about Emily Brimlow’s tune “Hope”. She has such a unique voice and tone. It’s addicting. And there is nothing wrong with this type of addiction. Emily’s love for average folk inspired this song. “I wanted to write a tribute to the everyday person.” Emily says, “A song to the ones who find a reason to smile even when they’re down.” We can easily see ourselves putting this one on repeat, happily. Just booty-shakin’. Sometimes, we just need mindless. Like reality TV. And, we dig the throwback vibe. LuQa is influenced by Michael Jackson, Lionel Riche, and Boyz II Men. You can hear that peppered throughout this track. Italian-born, MotoGP racing, and edgy music maker. That about sums him up. LuQa is currently in the studio finishing his album, Unleashed. Meanwhile, we’ll just keep sweating… Like what you read here? Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. That last part is not a guarantee. Over the course of a lifetime, it may feel like everything and everyone is against you. And that no one understands how you feel. But, you are not alone. Grammy award-winning duo for King & Country addresses that commonality in “God Only Knows”. We can’t really describe the magnitude of this song. Just listen for yourself. Powerful. Inspirational. There are days we just need this. Like what you read here? There’s nothing worse in a relationship than when your partner doesn’t see you. Doesn’t know you exist. You get mad at that person. You get mad at yourself. What to do? That’s the burning question from Anna Clendening’s “Invisible”. The track is a nice groove paired with her easy, full vocals. It’s bittersweet and catchy. Thank goodness this song doesn’t hurt like the subject matter does. Like what you read here? Suzi Wu is a British chick with an Asian persona. We can handle that. Seriously, who doesn’t want to be all that sweet Asian heat? If you want to know what Suzi’s all about, this is her bio: “Somewhere between embryotic and psychotic.” So. Many. Inappropriate. Thoughts. Resist. And apparently, she licks molded Jell-O. Why not? Anywho, her latest track “Highway” plays off that old familiar saying: “My way or the highway.” And from the looks of her music video and catchiness of this tune, her way sounds like a whole bunch of fun. Which might require penicillin. We already feel a no-sh&t-takin’-attitude coming over us. "Y'all better step off!" Pardon us. We got Suzi-ed. Like what you read here? My, how the times have changed. Social media has changed life. Whether for the better or not is highly contested. We live in a world where you can become “internet famous”. Perhaps this is why we’ve not heard of Luke Holland. He’s a “famous” YouTube drummer. He’s got the lineage, though. His dad is a pro drummer. Cool. But we’re uncool cuz we didn’t know who he was. Well, now we do. He offers his stick abilities for a cover of “Everybody Wants to Rule the World” by The Evening. We’re not usually fans of covers/remakes, because they tend to suck. Yes, that’s the official term. Tears for Fears made the song a hit in the 80s. What we like about the original is its gritty, yet dream-like nature. The Evening, consisting of producer/instrumentalist Taylor Larson and vocalist Kinnie Lane, wanted to brighten-up the track. Fortunately, the track is still gritty where it needs to be. The vocals are, indeed, sunny. But slightly annoying, too. We still give this track a thumbs up, because after a glass or two of wine—it’s going to sound just fine. Just like our singing in the shower. Like what you read here? The Swedish are known for ABBA, Ikea, and meatballs. And perhaps, Molly Hammar. Her new single “No Place Like Me” featuring Big Narstie is a blend of percussive beats, Big Narstie’s rap, and some sensual vocals. “No Place Like Me marks the place I’m at in my life right now, being able to truly be free and focus on what makes me feel good. I’m 23, single, and loving life,” said Molly. “Having Big Narstie join me on this single is a dream come true. I was so happy when he agreed to guest, it couldn’t be a better fit.” The song is… odd. What keeps us interested is Molly’s voice: smoky and intriguing. We could do without Big Narstie. And what exactly is a “narstie”? Is that like “nasty” but nastier? We do think her boots are cool. Apparently you don’t need pants when you have boots this high up on your leg. That’s a plus. Saves on laundry. Like what you read here?
